Sharon wins scholarship for independent study

I am so thankful and honored to have received a generous scholarship from Tales of the Cocktail and the New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society. This grant propels me into a thorough study of medicinal herbs and plants as they relate to the cocktail world. I will build a reference of plants, their histories and value for industry-wide education. I will also attempt to bridge the gap of understanding between Eastern and Western herbal medicine and their influences on cocktail culture. Read the mention in the Times-Picayune Lagniappe section and see the blurb on NOLA.com.

Hi Sharon! Some girlfriends and I were in NOLA for New Years and were lucky enough to be staying at Bienville House and frequented Iris. Your cocktails were amazing and a highlight of our trip. 2 months later, we are still talking about it. I will be back in NOLA at the end of May for my honeymoon, and we are staying at the Bienville House which I insisted upon b/c I have been craving your fabulous mixes!! Please tell me you are still there. I’m so excited to share my “drink heaven” with my fiance (who will then be my husband).

Congratulations on the scholarship! Who’s more deserving that you??
